UK - Gordale Scar, Yorkshire

2025-05-26

Ancient dry stone walls in Yorkshire Dales, separating the pastures

It started off as a deceptively sunny afternoon.

With time to spare before dinner, we decided to take a short walk to Gordale Scar, which is a rather special geographical feature.

Sheep enjoying bathing under the sun

Camper vans next to dried out creeks

It's been dry for a few weeks

The weather should be fine, right?

Right?

And of course the sky darkened…

typical English weather

Didn't take any pics in the rain while busy trying to keep our hats from flying off

But the storm was short-lived so we didn't get too wet

And we're rewarded with a rainbow at the end of the walk

The walk was enjoyable even with the wind and rain. Thanks to Karen who brought us on this wonderfully idyllic trail!

Here are the rest of the photos, with a few pics of the actual Gordale Scar. (And I just learnt that it's featured in the Witcher series)
